The renovation of the Dickson service yard, serving the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district with almost 250 employees on site, involves both the main building and its vast 4-hectare site.
The building has been completely overhauled, with renovation of the shell and structure, and complete interior refurbishment of garages and specialist workshops, as well as service areas and offices. Sustainable development and heritage come together, notably in the improvement of the existing structure and envelope - enabling them to be preserved for the long term.
The site is also being redeveloped according to sustainable principles: decontamination, erosion control, habitat restoration and revegetation, non-irrigated development, etc. The phasing and organization of the worksite have been adapted to enable the road crew to maintain its activities during the works.
