Located in the heart of Quebec City, the IUCPQ is a key player in the capital's healthcare system. Constantly evolving technologies and treatment methods have made it necessary to expand the department and update the premises.

The works involve a 4-story extension, in addition to multiple interventions in the existing building. A new electrophysiology room is being added to the two existing ones that have been relocated, five new operating theatres are being added to the existing, refurbished operating theatre, and numerous ancillary, administrative and technical spaces are being added.

The project combines the challenges of an existing building with the latest medical standards and techniques. Between needs and available heights, very little space is left for systems, and these are as efficient as they come. At the same time, the work was carefully managed to ensure continuity of operations without risk to patient health and safety. A major challenge, brilliantly met!
