Nouvelles infrastructures d’accueil et de service - Opémican
Completion period2016 - 2019
June 2019, on the shores of lakes Témiscamingue and Kipawa, in the southern Laurentians. The new Parc national d'Opémican opens its doors. In the heart of this vast forest of red and white pines, hikers and water sports enthusiasts will discover, in addition to numerous trails and camping areas, six reception and service buildings.
The spirit of the areaSolid wood, masonry, glass: the buildings use neutral, natural materials, respecting the essence of the place. Past logging operations have not been forgotten, and the vertical lines of wood floating on the glass will remind some people of logs drifting on the calm waters of the lake. Architecture is also an echo of nature.
